\nThe planet heats up<\/a><\/span> and the bushfire season approaches<\/span><\/a>, yet massive fossil fuel projects<\/a><\/span> still get the go ahead. Climate Change protesters are hunted by police<\/a><\/span> and imprisoned<\/a><\/span> for caring about our future.<\/span><\/p>\n

Whistleblowers<\/span><\/a> face<\/span> massive prison sentences<\/a><\/span> despite revealing information about<\/span> corruption<\/a><\/span> and<\/span> war crimes<\/span><\/a> that have proven accurate<\/a><\/span>. Counterpoint: A former <\/span>NSW Premier found<\/span> guilty of ‘serious corrupt conduct’<\/a><\/span> doesn’t even face criminal charges.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nOur newish Labor government continues the militarist policies<\/a><\/span> of the previous Liberal National Party government with a US-submissive<\/a><\/span> militarist flourish<\/a><\/span> that beggars belief<\/a><\/span>. <\/span>We find ourselves involved in two possible trigger points<\/span><\/a> for WWIII, as militarisation booms<\/a><\/span>. The government ignore the anti-war dissent<\/a><\/span> of their party rank and file.<\/span><\/p>\n

A <\/span>housing and cost of living crisis<\/a><\/span> assails us, as<\/span> banks make record profits<\/span><\/a><\/span>. COVID continues to<\/span> kill and disable our citizenry<\/span><\/a> despite our best efforts to<\/span> ignore and minimise it<\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tax cuts for our richest citizens<\/a><\/span> are on the table despite research demonstrating that – “inequality is on steroids<\/a><\/span> as the bottom 90% get just 7% of economic growth since 2009.” That’s right, it means “the top 10% of income earners (awaiting those yummy tax cuts) reap 93% of the benefits.” <\/span><\/p>\n

Are we to believe this Labor government – whose neoliberal policies<\/a><\/span> are keeping people in poverty<\/a> –<\/span> harbour a warm<\/a><\/span> and loving concern<\/span><\/a> for the plight of Aboriginal people<\/a><\/span>?
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Let’s get something straight, I fervently wish I could believe in the Voice, but as the saying goes, “Fool me once – shame on you. Fool me countless times…”<\/span><\/p>\n
