The gradual privatisation of Centrelink<\/a><\/span> has meant that the unemployed have become a source of revenue for companies associated with the LNP<\/a><\/span>. Service has diminished as the bottom-line and not the unemployed is the over-riding priority.<\/span><\/p>\n

A common result of privatisation, ignored by Morrison’s government and mainstream media, for ideological and financial reasons.<\/span><\/p>\n

Robodebt<\/span>,<\/a><\/span> an<\/span> automated debt recovery system, has been <\/span><\/span>targeting people considered at risk<\/em> by Centrelink.<\/span><\/p>\n

812 of the 2,030 people who died after receiving robodebts<\/span><\/a> were in this category. Despite the rhetoric from government about preventing suicides<\/span>,<\/a><\/span> robodebt is clearly increasing stress<\/span> and hardship.<\/span><\/p>\n

My 34 year old son was pushed to suicide due to his inappropriate mental health treatment for anxiety over his unfair Centrelink debt. Within a week of his passing they sent me a robodebt letter demanding I pay his debt in full within 30 days. No phone call.
